Meselefors Camping is located at the beautiful river Ångerman. The Ångerman offers excellent fishing opportunities for perch and pike. I am a passionate fisher myself and would be happy to answer any questions you may have.
Type of fishing
There are excellent fishing waters here for perch and pike. You can also fish for trout, grayling, whitefish, burbot and roach. During the high season from June to September, almost no fishing trip goes without a rich catch. It is not uncommon to catch a perch larger than 40 centimeters or a pike larger than 100 centimeters!
Upper Ångermanälven KFO
The “Övere Ångermanälven” fishing area stretches for 65 kilometers from the Volgsjöfors dam to the center of Åsele. A 20-minute drive along the river, and you will find a fantastic place to fish for large trout. The place is called “Stenkulla” and is located below the Stenkulla-power station. Stenkulla offers a good stock of grayling, trout, perch and pike.

Fly fishing
There are also great opportunities for fly fishing in the area. Vojmån flows into the lake in Vilhelmina. Just a few kilometers further north, are some excellent areas for fly fishing.

Why it’s important
When you fish in Sweden’s interior, you can easily get the impression that there are endless amounts of fish in rivers and lakes. Unfortunately, that is no longer the case. Over the past 30 years, dams have increased fishing and other environmental impacts have had a major impact.
Catch and release
We advocate the catch and release fishing method to support the sport fishing of the future. The method involves catching and releasing the fish. This is to preserve the fishing population. By using this method, you contribute to sustainable fishing.
Catch Limits
Take out only as much fish as you can use until you fish again.
On your guided tours:
Max 1 pike between 50–75 cm.
Max 5 perches between 25–40 cm.
Max 1 trout between 55–75 cm in the Ångermanälven (Stenkulla)
and 1 trout between 30–45 cm in Vojmån.
Max 1 grayling between 35–45cm in the Ångermanälven
and 1 grayling between 30–40 cm in Vojmån.
